Steven
I. Cohen, MD, FACS
Dr.
Cohen received his medical degree from St. Louis University School
of Medicine and residency training at The State University of
New York - Downstate Medical Center and Rhode Island Hospital/Brown
University.
Dr. Cohen is certified by
the prestigious American Board of Urology, a Fellow of the American
College of Surgeons, and Clinical Assistant Professor
of Urology at Brown University and Boston University Medical Centers.
He is past president of the Rhode Island Urologic Society and
past Executive Board member of the New England Urologic Society.
He established the first ultrasound guided brachytherapy program
in Rhode Island for prostate cancer. Dr. Cohen established
the first free hospital based prostate cancer screening clinic
in Rhode
Island and started the "Us Too" prostate cancer support
group in Rhode Island. He currently serves on the Urology
task force of the Rhode Island Cancer Council.
Dr. Cohen specializes in treating prostate and
bladder cancer and related benign diseases. He has published
in peer reviewed journals on prostate and other urologic malignancies.
He also has been a primary clinical investigator in urologic
research studies.
He sees patients at our Providence, Pawtucket,
Warren and Warwick offices.
