Vasectomy
& Reversal
Vasectomy is a surgical procedure to prevent pregnancy
by cuting the tubes that carry sperm cells from the testicles
to the penis. A safe procedure performed in the urologist's office,
it is considered a 100% effective form of birth control. The
doctors at Urologic Specialists of New England offer no-needle,
no-scalpel vasectomy -- a new technique that makes the procedure
more comfortable for the
patient than in the past.
For men who have had a vasectomy in the past but
have changed their minds and want to be able to have children,
we also offer surgery to reverse the vasectomy. Called vasovasostomy,
this surgery is most likely to be effective within three years
after the vasectomy.
